Abstract
Este artículo presenta una revisión del uso de la distribucióng-h en riesgo operativo; asimismo, se propone una modificaciónal método de Hoaglin (1985) para la estimación de losparámetros de la distribución g-h. La diferencia consiste enrealizar una regresión robusta cuando se estima el parámetroh; además, se realizan comparaciones de estimados de OpVaRmediante g-h y POT en dos aplicaciones. Los resultados muestranque el empleo del método g-h es de gran utilidad en riesgooperativo, pero debe tenerse cuidado cuando la distribución delas pérdidas exhiben colas extremadamente pesadas.© 2018, Facultad de Contaduría y Administración, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
