Abstract
THE PRESENT PAPER AIMS TO DETERMINE THE NEW ORGANIZATIONAL FORMS (NOF) ADOPTED BY TWO GROUPS OF COMPANIES, FROM MEXICO AND VENEZUELA, AS A RESULT OF THE INTRODUCTION OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGIES (ICT). IN ORDER TO DO THIS, FIRSTLY THE ROLE OF ICT IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE ECONOMY BASED KNOWLEDGE WAS ANALYZED; SECONDLY, THE ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGES AND THE NOF DERIVED FROM THE INTRODUCTION OF ICT, ADOPTED BY THE GROUPS OF COMPANIES, WERE DESCRIBED. THEN THE INFLUENCE OF ICT ON NOF WAS ASSESSED. THE ORGANIZATIONS THAT IMPLEMENTED ECONOMIC-ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGES IN ORDER TO ADAPT THE OPERATION OF THE INSTITUTION TO THE NEW CONDITIONS OF WORK, IMPROVED THEIR ESTIMATED PRODUCTIVITY IN THE MAJORITY OF THE CASES STUDIED. THIS WAS REFLECTED IN INCREASED SALES, REDUCED COSTS AND IMPROVEMENTS IN QUALITY. IT MAY BE CONCLUDED THAT THE RETURNS OF THE INVESTMENT ARE IMPROVED BY THE RELATION ICT-NOF.© 2018, Facultad de Contaduría y Administración, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
