Abstract
Job satisfaction must be considered in service companies, especially life insurance companies. The main objective of this study is to determine the influence of (1) proactive personality toward job satisfaction; (2) intrinsic motivation toward job satisfaction; (3) proactive personality towards innovative work behavior; (4) intrinsic motivation against innovative work behavior; and (5) innovation work behavior to job satisfaction. This model was tested on a sample of 160 employees of life insurance companies PT. Asuransi Starinvestama and PT. Asuransi Jiwa Takaful. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was used to test the hypothesis. The results of the study showed: (1) there was no influence of proactive personality towards job satisfaction; (2)there is the influence of intrinsic motivation to job satisfaction; (3) there is an influence of proactive personality towards innovative work behavior; (4) there is an influence of intrinsic motivation to innovative work behavior; and (5) there is no influence of innovative work behavior to job satisfaction. The conclusion of this study is that insurance employees who have a proactive personality and intrinsic motivation need to create job satisfaction and innovative work behavior.
